Why We Miss Them
Apple Jack’s were a classic UK penny sweet, widely remembered as the apple-flavoured counterpart to Black Jack. Made by Barratt, they shared the same chewy texture and bold flavour that defined a generation of pick-and-mix favourites. Once a staple of sweet shop jars throughout the 1980s and 1990s, they were quietly discontinued, but remain one of the most fondly remembered penny chews of all time.
