Why We Miss Them
Frosties were one of those sweets you never forgot. Bright red, sugar-dusted discs with a bold cola fizz that hit you straight away, followed by a chewy centre that made you slow down and enjoy it. They weren’t soft, they weren’t subtle, and they definitely weren’t shy. Each Frostie started with that unmistakable crunch as the sugary shell cracked, releasing a sharp, fizzy cola flavour that made your mouth tingle. Then came the chewy middle, rich and satisfying, turning what could have been a quick sweet into something you actually savoured. They came in that iconic roll, perfect for pockets, school bags, and long journeys. You’d tear one end open and work your way through them, one by one, always promising yourself “just one more”. Frosties felt generous, properly made, and full of character. Today’s sweets rarely come close. The fizz is weaker, the chew is softer, and the flavour fades too quickly. Frosties had attitude. They were bold, fizzy, chewy, and unapologetically old-school. A true classic that deserves its place back exactly as it was.
This is one of my absolute favourite sweets of all time! The fact that they are no longer around should be criminal!
